Dr. Mwirigi Kaaria
Dr. Mwirigi Kaaria is a specialist prosthodontist recognized by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC) and currently serves as a lecturer in Prosthetic Dentistry at the Department of Dental Sciences University of Nairobi.
Having developed a keen interest in health sciences at an early age, Dr. Kaaria joined the University of Nairobi in 2004 for his Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree and completed with honors in 2008 after a four-year stint of rigorous training in Dental Sciences. He proceeded for his internship at a national referral facility and later public service in various dental departments in Kenya as well as a short stint as the chief resident dentist at The Karen Hospital, Nairobi.
Dr. Kaaria rejoined his Alma Mater in 2014 for his Master of Dental Surgery in Prosthodontics and completed with distinction in 2017 and stayed on as an instructor to both undergraduate and post graduate students. He is a consummate teacher and a mentor to many young dental professionals. Due to his strong desire to grow capacity among young dental professionals, he is involved in private Basic Dental Implantology training. His clinical focus is on Implant Prosthetics for both simple and advanced cases requiring multi-disciplinary approaches.
Dr. Kaaria is a member in good standing at the prestigious International College of Prosthodontists(ICP), which is the largest community of prosthodontists globally that is steeped in research, education and innovation. He is also a member of the world renown International Team for Implantology (ITI) and chairs the education committee of the Nairobi ITI study club. His research interests include digital workflows, biomaterials for implant supported prostheses and occlusion in the digital era.
In his spare time, Dr. Kaaria enjoys swimming, reading, travelling, and is a keen jogger.
